Well-Keeper Woes is a Quest in Villagers & Heroes.

I need to know more about Odette, the witch of Turnapin Peak, who is responsible for all the bad things in this place and I need to get a hold of the Seed of Honeyed Light! Laudine mentioned someone named Eloy. Maybe he can tell me more.

Prerequisite

NPC

Objectives

  • Find and speak with Eloy.
  • Create 15 Impenetrable Threads. T do so I’ll need to combine a Drop of Warg Saliva, some Yeti Tuft and a Snow Mite Silk Sac. More information can be found in my journal.
  • Bring the Impenetrable Threads back to Eloy.
  • Return to Nobleleaf and tell him all you’ve learned.

Rewards

  • 65 silver
  • 1m XP
  • Uncommon Priest Scepter (different depending on the played class)

Walkthrough

  • I found Eloy at E3. Ask about Odette and Clarissa. He tells you they were friends, he can tell you more but a beautiful tapestry he had was ruined by some Snow Mites. If you help him getting him some Impenetrable Threads, he tell you more about them. He wants me to make 15 Impenetrable Threads.
  • When you have them all, return them to Eloy and he’ll send you back to Nobleleaf. Tell him all you have learned so far. Baby Lily is the daughter of the evil Odette and Clarissa had fled with her.
  • Nobleleaf rewards you and talks to you about the next quest: An Informative Inscription.

Dialogue

Eloy: "I used to be a somebody. I had stature and importance. And, oh, did I look magnificent in my robe of honeyed light! The children would gawk at me with their little mouths open in awe, and their eyes full of wonder to behold The Keeper of the Well! But now look at me. Just a pathetic, wandering, wretch."

You "Do you know anything about Odette and Clarissa?"

Eloy: "Odette and Clarissa were inseparable friends from the time they were just wee little girls. Oh, how those two used to love to admire me! Always whispering and giggling to each other, and making little dares as to which of them would sneak up and touch my robe of honeyed light. Oh, I miss those days!"

You "Go on."

Eloy: "I say, I'll tell you what! There was a beautiful tapestry done of me once, standing next to the well in all my magnificence! But Snow Mites stole it from me. I only just found it, and it's ruined! The fabric has been torn and shredded. But I'd be able to mend it with some Impenetrable Thread! Fetch me some and I'll tell you more about the two girls."

You "All right. Just write down what I need to do."

Eloy: "Done! Thanks, <Player Name>. See you soon!"

Eloy: "Did you get me the Impenetrable Threads?"

You "Yes. Now please tell me more about Odette and Clarissa!"

Eloy: "They remained the closest of friends until well into their adulthood. But then Odette became infatuated with a bad man, a criminal and worshipper of dark magics, named Fen. Odette became obsessed with the evil arts. They had a child together, Baby Lily, but shortly afterwards, Fen abandoned them both with cruel words, and never returned to the Peak."

You "Go on."

Eloy: "It made Odette deranged. Neglecting her child, she threw herself entirely into dark magics, which twisted her into something hideous. Clarissa, fearing for Baby Lily's safety, took the infant and fled. Odette's wrath was great. She spent years searching for them, to no avail. Odette returned to the peak. She cursed Clarissa from afar, then unleashed her bitterness upon us all, as she does still, to this day."

You "By cursing the well. I need to get the Seed of Honeyed Light! Where does Odette dwell?"

Eloy: "She has a lair deep below the mountain, practically impenetrable. But even if you somehow were able to defeat the witch, and retrieve the seed, it wouldn't matter. The curse can only be broken if Lily herself tosses the Seed of Honeyed Light into the well. And no one knows whatever became of Lily."

You "Gah. Okay, thanks, Eloy."

Eloy: "Farewell!"

You lost 15x Impenetrable Thread.

Nobleleaf: "Did you learn anything useful from Eloy?"

You "[Tell him everything.]"

Nobleleaf: "Oh, dear. That's not exactly good news."

Gained 1m experience!'

You "No it isn't."

Nobleleaf: "Hrm. Maybe Igraine has some ideas about all this. She just got here, and has been eager to tell you something. You should talk to her."
